Jim Hendler, who co-created the OWL language of the Semantic Web has written an interesting post where he comes out with his refutation against criticisms of the Semantic Web.

    Hi Nova,
I’d like to point out that “Chaotic Semantic Web” is actually a phrase that I coined – in the post that Jim is evidently refuting. The fact that you’ve conflated our two points of view only underscores my position that Jim and I are actually in violent agreement!

Actually, I think your original title was correct. The part I question is the idea that Hendler is refutting criticisms of the semantic web. While that’s partially true (especially in the case of Shirky & O’Reilly, it seems), his post is mostly about adamantly denouncing things that I said that he actually agrees with.
