Metadata Challenges

Thanks to this site, today I found an interesting list of metadata challenges by Cory Doctorow. It is a useful read — these are challenges that must be overcome for metadata to reach its full potential. Fortunately we are working on solving many of these challenges here at Radar Networks. But each of the issues raised in Cory’s list are worthy of extensive discussion and debate.

    My god that Doctorow guy is cynical. His type of prophecy is the easily self-fulfulling type. A few more of him and no way would it come about. But he makes good points.
    This is one more reason why I think a metadata system needs to be able to bootstrap itself to succeed.
