Paul Davies has put forth an interesting proposal for a one-way trip to Mar as the most cost-effective way to establish a permanent human presence on Mars. It’s a smart and novel idea.

The concept is interesting, but like all Mars projects, the cost is still out of proportion to the priority. It seems insane to me that exploration of EARTH has such a low priority. We know so little about how our own biosphere works, especially the oceans. And there a signs that if we don’t learn more soon, we may spoil it for future generations of human life. Just an analysis/comparison of human priorities, without politics and emotion, that’s all ask.

One way to mars – go there and not come back – is
not such a pricey proposition. it could be done with 40 year old technology and some newer elect-
tronics. It need not be that difficult if it is
done simply. It would be dangerous – not every
trip would be without disaster. Where are those
adventurous individuals?
The moon may be the extent of our reach, using blast and fly technology. Alternate methods are within our reach. Understanding what space is,(it’s not just nothing), might help to shorten the flight. More creature comforts are a nessessity.
