The diagram below illustrates what I believe the Metaverse is — an all encompassing matrix across all the layers of our experience. Based on this perspective, I don’t yet see any true Metaverse app in the market.

The Metaverse must include ALL the layers. There is still no app or service that truly integrates them all. So there is actually no true Metaverse app in existence yet. Today what is often called “metaverse” is synonymous with “VR worlds” … but that is only part of the equation. The true metaverse will seamlessly interweave all the layers of our experience into a single fabric. 

In the Image below, some logos are confined within a narrow layer and some span across several layers of the onion. The strongest franchises connect two or three layers together.
